I am really loving the theme/design of your web site.
Do you ever run into any web browser compatibility
problems? A couple of my blog readers have complained about my website not working correctly in
Explorer but looks great in Safari. Do you have any tips to help fix this issue?

derum: Depends on the town. At Palolem, the backpackers’ beach of choice, seaside bungalows start at 400-500 rupees. You can find cheaper rooms in guesthouses away from the beach.

Unfortunately, Marcus, it was wither this room or $20 at a three-star. Kottayam has lousy lodging options. I took the room, making sure to sleep in a silk sleeping sack and knowing (hoping) the spiders wouldn’t bother me if I didn’t bother them.

I was out of there by the crack of dawn.

These photos made me cringe! For me, the deal-breaker was the spiders. They’re gigantic! Hell no would I let them be my roommates.

I had a similar thing happen when I went to Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Some British backpackers in Malaysia had given me a business card for the hotel they’d stayed in a few weeks before.

“Really cheap and really nice!” they’d said. It was US$7.50 a night. When I got there, I found out that place was a run-down hellhole! Although not quite as bad as yours.

The next day, I immediately moved into a super-nice hotel that cost US$9.50 a night. I’ve never been so happy to spend more money!
